Oh, how a day can change everything. Sunday I was in my bikini on a paddle board in the bay. Yesterday I was covered from head to toe, curled up in a ball on the beach. Much different vibe. Yesterday the daughter was invited to hang out and spend a fun day with a friend she hasn't seen all summer. But yesterday morning I get a text from the Mom saying her back isn't feeling that well and can the girls just hang at our house. Totally fine but I know my daughter was already looking forward to a "fun" day and hanging at our house is not going to cut it. So I offer to take the girls to the beach to go boogie-boarding. We pack up the car and head to the beach. The girls hit the water and I curled up in a ball and used my sweater like a cloak of invisibility (Lord of the Rings) and curled up in a little ball and tried to get some rest. You can't really sleep when you need to open your eyes every 5 minutes to make sure the children are still above water. But the girls had a blast and I enjoyed looking like the biggest dork at the beach!
