Man Goes On Shooting Rampage In Northern California, Kills 5

This morning an unnamed man has killed at least 5 people in the Northern California town of Rancho Tehama.

This man's rampage spread through seven different locations, including an elementary school where he opened fire on students and staff as parents dropped their children off for school this morning.

At 8am this morning the gunman opened fire on someone's home, killing a man in his own driveway and then stealing his neighbor's truck.

The man was reportedly crazy and allegedly owned many guns and would randomly fire off gunshots in the middle of the night.  The authorities were also allegedly made aware of this and unfortunately nothing was ever done about it.

The gunman was already a convicted felon that was out on bail for stabbing a woman.

After stealing the neighbor's truck , the gunman drove to Rancho Tehama Elementary School and on his way there he opened fire on a woman and her daughter in a FOrd pcikup truck. Both were taken to the hospital.

When the gunman reached the school, police say he fired between 90-100 rounds with semi-automatic rifle and two handguns.  The bullets struck one adult and at least three children, including a six  year old that was shot twice.

According to eye witnesses the gunman was then shot and killed by police.

Another eye witness had this to say:

"Coy Ferreira, whose daughter is a kindergarten student, was  dropping his daughter off for class just before 8 a.m. when he heard  what sounded like a firecracker. A school secretary ran out and yelled  for the kids to get in the classrooms because someone was shooting at  the school.

Ferreira said he ran into a classroom with 14  students. He said the series of shots came through the classroom  windows, hitting one student. Ferreria said a young boy was shot in the  foot and the chest. When he spoke to us, he said the child was alert and  talking. He said another student in an adjacent classroom was shot  under the arm. That child was also conscious.

Ferreira said there were two gunmen. He saw one of them, a man in  his 30's-40's dressed in green camo running away from the school after  the shooting."
