During a recent episode of Jeopardy!, contestant Nick Spicher found out just how exacting the game show's rules were when he failed to properly state the name of the song "Gangsta’s Paradise Lost" and instead offered "Gangster's Paradise Lost". He was originally told that his answer was correct but the show later ruled that he mispronounced the title, siting that the Oxford English Dictionary lists 'gangster' and 'gangsta" as two separate words.
What followed was a social media field day and the loss of $3,200 in prize money, although Spicher was able to maintain his lead in the competition.
