San Diego-Based Marines Are Under Investigation For 'Blackface'

Two San Diego-based Marines are under an investigation after they posted a video that appears to show them in "blackface."

The marine that posted the video is Zach Highfield and it was originally posted on Snapchat. The video shows him and another man in uniform with their faces blackened. One of them is heard saying "blackface." The other man puts on his cap and salutes. At one point, one of them uses a racist slang used to describe African Americans. The video was shared on social media and many people on Twitter were saying the Marines should be kicked out of the military.

Highfield told a KPBS reporter, they were wearing charcoal masks used to clean pores. He said they didn't mean to offend anyone. What do you think?
