With the successful release of Mayochup last fall, Heinz decided to extend their mayo-based product line by bringing mustard and barbecue sauce to the party. There's now an easy alternative for people who don't want to mess with multiple condiment containers or for those who never get the right balance of both sauces right.
Heinz stated in a press release that customers have been mixing the different sauces for years. "First with Mayochup sauce and now with Mayocue and Mayomust sauces, we’re taking out the guesswork to give our fans the perfect condiment blends from the start," Nicole Kulwicki, director of marketing for Heinz, said.
The company is facing skepticism from those who say it's a terrible concept and simply an advertising ploy, Heinz has said that innovation is a critical step in stabilizing struggling mayonnaise sales.
