The Chargers tried to have some fun with it by attempting to “rickroll” Steelers fans by playing the song ‘Renegade,’ which the Steelers play at home to fire up their defense. The Chargers then switched in the middle of the song to Rick Astley song, “Never Gonna Give You Up.” and this didn’t go so well for the Chargers. because Renegade fired up the Steelers fans and they just went nuts the whole time. This was not appreciated by the Chargers team.
Melvin Gordon told the LA times:
“It was crazy,” running back Melvin Gordon said. “They started playing their theme music. I don’t know what we were doing — that little soundtrack, what they do on their home games. I don’t know why we played that.
“I don’t know what that was. Don’t do that at our own stadium … It already felt like it was their stadium … I don’t understand that.”
