The National UFO Reporting Center had a very busy year in 2019 with nearly 6,000 reports of UFO sightings in North America, up from nearly 3,400 in 2018.
Center officials can't say why there was such an increase in sightings for 2019, but the National UFO Reporting Center also doesn't want you to think little green aliens are about to land in America. UFO stands for unidentified flying object. Sometimes people think they're seeing an alien spaceship when it actually might be a drone or a satellite. SpaceX, for example, launched 180 new satellites into space last year.
Where are the most UFOs seen? California had the most UFO sightings, with 485 in 2019. Florida and Washington state also UFO has a significant number of reports.
October was the busiest month for sightings, with 705 reported.
