The crew requested for me to give my top 10 Pearl Jam songs of all time. This is a tough one. For a long time Pearl Jam was my favorite band of all time. I've seen them in concert many times. I love them. So to narrow down their entire catalog to 10 is nearly impossible. But I did my best. Now remember, this is MY top 10. Your cans be different. Here you go...
10 - Rearviewmirrior - This is off my favorite album, Vs. I could have gone in several different directions here but this song I really love and will always go back to.
9 - Nothingman - Such a melodic tune. You know I love the slow jams and Eddie's voice in this is beautiful.
8 - Wish List - Yield wasn't my favorite album but I have two songs off of it on my top 10, so maybe I need to go back and listen to it more. This song got some radio love which a lot of Pearl Jam's later stuff didn't. Great song.
7 - Elderly Woman Behind the Counter - Great song and I love that the whole crowd screams "Hello" in concert during that line.
6 - Thumbing My Way - People may not know this song much, but it is one of my favorites. From Riot Act, its the best song from that album by far.
5 - Better Man - Off of Vitalogy, which has a lot of my favorites songs on it, this is the best and most well known.
4 - Given To Fly - Another one from Yield, that people may think I have too high on my list. But this one I listen to and it will inspire me. It has a nice anthem feel to it.
3- Jeremy - The first time I heard it, it was like nothing I had ever heard before. I know there are some really famous songs that came from Ten, but this one is so dark and cool, it gets the #3 spot.
2 - Daughter - I sing this at the top of my lungs whenever I hear it. Top to bottom, Vs. is my favorite album. And I think this is the best song from it.
1 - Black - This is the song that made me fall in love with this band. It wasn't Alive or Evenflow, which were massive hit. It was Black. I heard it and felt like this band is amazing. Still feel that way to this day.
Wow, that was hard. There are so many songs that I had a hard time leaving off. Dissident, Yellow Ledbetter, Last Kiss, Corduroy, Oceans, Garden, I Am Mine, etc. All could have gotten in. Depends on my mood. But right now, this is it. Can't wait to hear them in concert when they come to town in April.
