Top 5 Teams That Should Sign Colin Kaepernick

I heard a report yesterday that the Chargers could be a team interested in signing Colin Kaepernick. That actually makes some sense. But are they the best for for him? Here are my Top 5 NFL teams that should sign him...

  1. Jaguars - This makes too much sense for it to happen. First you have the league's only minority owner there. Their QB situation is shaky at best. You bring Colin in and immediately it brings some relevance to the team. The Kaepernick jersey will be the top selling jersey wherever he goes. He might even be your number 3 for a while, but it wouldn't be a bad thing for the team.
  2. Redskins - I don't think the owner would do it but as for the team itself it makes sense. No one knows if Dwayne Haskins is the man for the job. Kap could come in and compete for the back up job and possible even the starting one if he shows he still has it. How wild would it be for him to play in the nation's capitol?!
  3. Patriots - ow wild would that be? You go from Tom Brady to Colin Kaepernick! I think the owner could do this and get the league behind it. There are only a few owners that have that kind of pull and Bob Kraft is one of them. They seem to know something we don't about Jarrett Stidham. We will see. Either way, what would it hurt to bring in Kap just in case.
  4. Chargers - Are they serious about Tyrod Taylor being the starter? I don't think so. I wouldn't be surprised if Justin Herbert starts by week 2. So if Taylor isn't the guy, why not bring in Kap and see what he has. He could be Herbert's backup and a safety net.
  5. Steelers - This is a wild card. With Big Ben coming off injury, you are not sure if he will be the same guy. It was pretty clear the team did ok with the QBs the had last year in spite of them. I doubt there is much confidence in Mason Rudolph or Duck Hodges. Scrap those two and sign Kap. With a minority head coach, it would make a lot of sense.

There you go. There are a couple other spots that would work too. The Eagles with Carson Wentz always hurt. Arizona or Baltimore with the type of offense they run. But in the end it just depends on what Kap has left. If he still has the ability, then give the man a job.
