San Diego Padres Increase Seating Capacity At Petco Park

Petco Park will soon be allowing more fans to attend San Diego Padres game, reports KGTV.

Now that San Diego County is in the orange tier of California's reopening plan, the capacity will be increased from 20% to 33%.

The Padres announced the increased capacity will take effect starting Friday, April 16.

They also announced that designated sections of the ballpark "will be available at 67% capacity for fans who have been fully vaccinated, or who have received a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours of the first game they plan to attend during the homestand."

Fans ages 13 and up to enter those designated sections must show proof of either:

  • Paper or digital version of CDC-issued Vaccination Card along with a photo ID
  • Paper or digital version of negative COVID-19 test along with a photo ID

According to the team, fans with tickets also have the option to receive a COVID-19 in advance at Petco Park for a nominal fee.

Per California guidelines, only California residents will be able to attend games for now. Masks will be required inside the stadium at all times unless actively eating or drinking.

The stadium will also not accept cash at all concessions and retail locations. Fans are being asked to pay with credit cards, Padres Pay, and other forms of digital payment.
