A Chinese kindergarten principal has been fired after she welcomed students back with this pole dancing display.
Hundreds of children and parents at the Xinshahui kindergarten in Shenzhen China watched as a female pole dancer performed on a flag pole in front of the entire school.
The first Monday in September often marks the start of a new school year in China and schools often hold ceremonies, usually involving motivational speeches by the principal or alumni, but not this time.
According to one Shenzen based journalist Michael Standaert, he said on social media that he planned on taking his children out of the school after this performance.
"Before our kids got out of kindergarten for the summer, there was 10 days of military 'activities' and displays of machine guns and mortars at the door; now the principal has welcomed them back with a strip pole dance," Standaert wrote on his Twitter account.
Standaert also noted that there had been advertisements around the school courtyard promoting a pole dancing school. Both Standaert and has wife called to complain, but the school official hung up after saying it was "good exercise."
Some parents and students claimed they felt uncomfortable with the performance but said that things were going back to normal under a new principal.
