Eddie Murphy May Perform At Comedy Club Near You

Eddie's working on a new standup comedy routine and he hinted that he will be out testing his material in clubs.

Eddie Murphy has proven to one and all that he's still an entertainment giant. With the release of his Netflx blockbuster Dolemite Is My Name in October, and his triumphant return to SNL in December, Eddie is riding a wave of success that's not expected to recede anytime soon.

2020 will see the release of Coming to America 2 in theaters, Beverly Hills Cop 4 on Netflix, and a return to standup comedy. During his appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in December, Ellen asked Eddie if he planned to try out his material in comedy clubs and Eddie hesitantly responded with "Yeah, we may do some of that." He also explained that he wanted to get started developing material early in the year and refine it over 8 to 9 months before going public with it.

It appears Ellen may have guessed Eddie's plans correctly, as Page Six's Cindy Adams reports "Eddie Murphy sneaking into comedy clubs? This month? Testing jokes? Like he’s maybe prepping for his Netflix stand-up special?"

Be on the lookout, Eddie Murphy might just take your local comedy club by surprise in the weeks to come.
