Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa is scheduled to join the maiden voyage of SpaceX to the moon in 2023 and he's looking for a girlfriend to join him.
The 44-year old entrepreneur is accepting applications from single women who are 20 years or older, who are "bright and positive" and have an interest in space travel.
The deadline to submit applications is January 17, 2020. Matchmaking dates with Yusaku will take place in February and March with a partner being selected by the end of March.
On his website, Yusaku explains his motivation “I’ve been able to acquire my share of money, social status, and fame along the way, but now I’m restarting my life. I’m 44 now. As feelings of loneliness and emptiness slowly begin to surge upon me, there’s one thing that I think about: Continuing to love one woman. I want to find a ‘life partner.’ With that future partner of mine, I want to shout our love and world peace from outer space.”
Yusaku is the founder of Japan's largest fashion retailer Zozotown and has a networth of $3.6 billion.The 44-year old entrepreneur is a father of three who has had a string of celebrity girlfriend's since his divorce.
Despite his wealth and the unique opportunity he's offering the search for love hasn't gone well. In a recent Twitter post, dates January 9, 2020 he wrote, “I have decided to make an appearance on AbemaTV’s matchmaking show. I’m ashamed, but I’m also at the end of my rope so I’d seriously like to find my life partner!”
On a final note, the 2023 trip to the moon relies on a rocket that SpaceX has yet to build.
