'My Girlfriend Is Not Hungry' Menu Sparks Controversy

Mama D’s Diner in Little Rock, Arkansas added a menu section with larger portions of side dishes like French fries, onion rings, chicken wings because so many guys end up sharing their meal with girlfriends who only order salad or something light. In a social post, Mama D's said they just wanted to help solve a problem for couples.

In a series of social posts about the menu, things got dicey. Some loved it, and thought it was a novel idea, making comments like "Petitioning every restaurant to do this," while others took offense, saying that women should be able to order whatever wanted. One blogger penned a lengthy "Screw This Whole My Girlfriend Isn't Hungry Menu Trend" article on the subject. Meanwhile, the guy who made the menu go viral had no idea the subject would be so polarizing.
