Parents Upset New 'Peter Rabbit' Movie Bullies Children With Food Allergies

The new Peter Rabbit movie has  hit theaters and it features some big names in the voice cast, including James Corden, Daisy Ridley and Margot Robbie.

The movie seemed harmless enough, fluffy rabbits trying to defend their garden.  Some parents left the theater furious over a scene that seemed to make light of a severe food allergy.

Apparently though, as the rabbits are throwing berries in an attempt to regain their garden from the human, Mr. McGregor.  Mr. McGregor is forced to use his EpiPen to control his allergies.

Twitter got fired up about the pure and unnecessary violence that trivialized food allergies.

The pushback was so strong even that Sony pictures had to issue an apology

"Food allergies are a serious issue. Our film should not have made light  of Peter Rabbit's arch nemesis, Mr. McGregor, being allergic to  blackberries, even in a cartoonish, slapstick way. We sincerely regret  not being more aware and sensitive to this issue, and we truly  apologize," the statement said.
