School Bus Driver Arrested For Letting Kids Drive the Bus

A 27-year old female bus driver has been arrested and is facing preliminary felony charges of child neglect, according to The Associated Press because she let three different kids drive the bus for short stretches on a rural Boone Grove, Indiana road.  The kids were ages 11, 13, and 17.

One of the other students on the bus recorded the driver giving one of the kids instructions on her Twitter account. Soon after, the bus driver Joandrea Dehaven McAtee was arrested and immediately fired by First Student, the company that operates school buses in the school district.

"The Porter Township School Corporation is angered and disappointed in the actions of this driver. The safety of our students is a top priority," said the Township in a statement to ABC News.
