One of the most popular churches in San Diego is now the proud owner of a strip club... or the property that once housed it.
“Today I got in my car and drove to a strip club for work,” Rock Church MOS Campus Pastor Ricky Page said.
The Rock Church has spent $1.2 million on the Old Body Shop building located off of Camino Del Rio West in the Midway district.
While the church purchased the property and will prevent people from going to the old strip club that was there, they can't shut down the other risque businesses in the same area like the Les Girls theater and an adult store called "Nude."
The owner of Les Girls', Kathleen Morgan, says that the Rock Church has harassed her in the past and has tried to get her to sell. She claims that someone has even tagged the billboard above her business.
“We love our neighbors, we love San Diego,” Love said. “We would not use any sort of tactics.”
