Transgender wrestler, Mack Beggs has won his second Texas girls state wrestling championship for the second year in a row. The victory has, once again, angered many people because Beggs is a transgender athlete.
Beggs is an 18-year-old senior at Trinity High School in Texas and has began the transition from girl to a boy a few years ago and has even been taking low level testosterone injections. Beggs has requested to wrestle in a mens' class but is still required to compete in a woman's class despite his transition and despite taking testosterone because of a decision made by the University Interscholastic League that requires him to compete in the gender class that is specified on his birth certificate.
