Imagine being able to chat with your pet. How awesome would that be?
According to Amazon their pet translators can turn your dogs woofs into words.
Futurologist William Higham of Next Big Thing, who co-authors a report with Amazon believes that we will have devices to chat with animals in less than 10-years.
“Innovative products that succeed are based around a genuine and major consumer needs. The amount of money now spent on pets – they are becoming fur babies to so many people – means there is huge consumer demand for this. Somebody is going to put this together,” he says.
During the past few years there has been big advances in speech recognition and translation software as algorithms learn to interpret language.
Amazon already sells one device online which changes a human voice to the equivalent meow using sounds from 25 cats.
