My weekend was like a sandwich. The middle was filled with all the healthy veggies and protein that your body needs but the bread at the ends was the delightful treat! Most of the weekend was running around town with the family, doing paperwork, going to soccer games, cleaning the house, etc.... But Friday night and Sunday afternoon were the fun times.
Friday night a bunch of parents from the neighborhood all arranged to drop our kids off at this Parent's Night Out event. So the kids all play and are supervised and it gives the parents a few hours to go out on a Friday night. So we all go out and have some nice drinks and dinner at Fat Fish in PB. We decided with about an hour left to go before kid pick up time that we should swing by and try that new place Mavericks in PB. I can tell by the outside of the place that it is already was too cool and way too young for us. But whatever, I'm already a few drink in so I'm down for whatever. We get in and I'm surprised that it is not that packed with young people. So we order a round and just then the clock strikes 9pm and the whole vibe changes. The music volume goes up about 10 times and people just start flowing through the door. We hang until 9:15 and then realize we should give up our table to a group way younger and cooler than us. But on the way out the door DJ Boo decided to hit the closed up DJ table to see how he would look doing his dream job of a club DJ. Not sure what that face he is making is all about. #OldPeople...........
Sunday afternoon was the other highlight of my weekend. My daughter and I decided to get out of the house and escape football central to go to the beach. We grabbed the boogie board and some towels and we were off. Luckily we ran into a bunch of friends for the daughter to play with so I didn't have to fully go in the ocean. I am such a chicken when the water is cold. But I love watching her trow her body into the waves and ride her boogie board in with a smile from ear to ear. Snapped this sweet selfie.............
