Lots of breathing and meditation for me lately. And even with me doing that, I am still on the edge of mentally snapping! I just keep telling myself when I feel overwhelmed that it could be so much worse. I also tell myself that we are very lucky is so many way and that in a few months this situation will be a distant memory. Issue #1 - The Sky's Old House Project has hit a standstill. I can't even go into the detail of it (cause I'll snap) but lets just say the project is about 3 months behinds schedule of what I was initially promised back in September of last year. Issue #2 - Ground water coming up through the slab of our rental home. Over two weeks ago now we noticed a layer of water on the floor of the hall/daughter's bath in our rental. We cleaned it up and immediately told the landlord but it just kept coming back. So we have had two weeks of changing soaking towels every few hours and service people coming by. Finally yesterday they had a guy pop up a tile to actually look underneath and shocker there is a crack running through the slab with water coming up through it. Since it has now been two weeks there is water spreading under the floor everywhere....the wood floors in the hall and master and it is even coming out of the back wall of the house into the backyard. But it seems like they are being very "conservative" with money and only want "trusted friends" to work on it. So after having 3 of our towels thrown away by another handy-man when we weren't there yesterday we have been told that we need to wait till Friday for another guy to come and remove more tile. WTF good is that going to do???? You need to pull up all the tile and the wood and plug the freaking crack!!!!! Guess we will wait until Friday to see what they want to do next. But I am so over babysitting this leaking and hoping each day I don't come home to a totally flooded home. And then if we do have to end up having to moving out, where the heck do we go? I could go on-and-on! But we have our health and we have each other.....this is what I keep telling myself.
Pictures of the water filling the bathroom floor before they removed the tile. The pool that was created when they removed the tile. So beautiful (sarcasm) how the light reflects, like a moon reflecting on a lake. And when I zoom in you can see that nice crack running under the tile as well as the wood floor...........
