Which View Deck?????

The Sky's Old House remodel project is still in process with lots of the focus right now on the garage and yard. Since we bought the house a year and a half ago my plan was to put a ocean view deck in a slope in our yard. Our neighbors have a super nice one in their slope and I love it. The hubby has never been a fan of this idea. The hubby doesn't really care about having a view no matter how many times I stress to him how important it is for value if we ever have to sell someday. He really dislikes the idea cause it would mean we would have to cut out all this old growth from the slope which provides privacy and a sound barrier from a street below. I totally understood what he was saying but I felt the trade off was worth it. Then we started talking about this idea for a VIP style cabana near the pool. I blogged about my cabana ideas a few weeks back. We were in the yard talking about all these ideas on Sunday when I had the crazy thought of making the cabana with a rooftop deck. We were going to build a cabana anyway. It would preserve the sound and privacy barrier in the slope. And the views would be WAY better. So we are leaning towards that right now. I did a post on my Sky's Old House IG yesterday to get people's thoughts on what they liked better. Right now the view deck cabana is in the lead!
