Family Spa Day

Wednesday the whole family was a bit in the dumps. It was the 7th anniversary of my husband's Mom passing and we were all sad. After work I had about an hour to kill before picking up our daughter at school so I treated myself to a pedicure in honor of my MIL. She was the first person to ever take me to get a pedicure back in the day. When I picked my daughter up from school she was not happy. She didn't want to talk about it but looked super sad and her eyes even welled up with tears at one point. My daughter right now is a girly girly who is into all things that the teen girls on TikTok are doing. So I told her how I got my toes done and it lifted my spirits a bit. I asked if she would like to stop at CVS and we could go home and do a mini-spa day. She loved the idea. We are picking out moisturizing face masks when my daughter jokingly mentions that Dad is probably sad today too and maybe he would like to do a spa day with us. I say that is a great idea and buy a third face mask. The hubby was a bit confused and didn't seem to love the idea when we got home and told him. But then I gave him the look of "this will mean a lot to your daughter" and he turned his frown upside-down and we did family face masks. The daughter was so happy and the whole family felt better after....
