In 2015 we decided we wanted to take our daughter to her first trip to the snow. We rented a cabin in Big Bear and hit it on the perfect weekend. It started snowing the second we pulled into the driveway so by our first morning we had beautiful fresh snow to play in. We don't ski or board but we love to sled. And the cabin we rented had the perfect sledding hill in the yard. We didn't leave the cabin once....it was such a nice family weekend. We haven't been back as a family since. The daughter has been asking to go lately so I feel a trip in our future!
