Mama Bird & Weekend Project

This weekend our goal was to move a row of hedges two feet back from their current position. I know....super exciting. We need the extra two feet for another project we plan on doing. So step one is to move the hedges. We dug all the holes first. Then one by one moved each hedge. We had one hedge that was being super stubborn and didn't want to come out of its hole. So we are rocking it back and forth and shaking it when all of a sudden I feel like someone is looking at me. I look down to see the sweetest little bird just rocking back and forth in her nest. I scream at the hubby to stop and tell him we got a Mama Bird situation here and we need to proceed with caution. We then take extra time to remove that hedge and plant it with care so the nest doesn't get knocked out. Mama Bird did not budge the whole time. She was going to give her life before she gave up that nest. Papa Bird (we assume) was flying around all crazy and once we finally walked away he flew up and started chirping. Hedges are transplanted and Mama Bird is safe...........
