Homemade Pie

OMG....I made a pie!!!! About a year ago we planted a baby apple tree in our backyard. We weren't expecting fruit for a while. But this summer we got a small crop of about a dozen small size apples. I was so proud of us and our little tree! The first day we picked them we were so excited we all cut one up and ate some slices with pride knowing these apples were from our own yard. After that they sat on the counter then got moved to the fridge and that is when I got sad thinking that our homegrown apples might go to waste. So over the weekend I bought some pie crust at the store and last night we made an apple pie. It turned out so good. It was a bit wet inside, not sure if it was the fresh apples or if we didn't let it sit long enough. But it tasted so good. Now I got to start thinking about what kind of apple dessert I'm going to make with our crop next summer. :)
