Calm Before The Storm

Not so sure it was actually calm around my house. The day before the storm the hubby and I spent almost all day prepping. We knew that we wanted to put away the patio umbrella and cushions but once we started prepping we couldn't stop. We realized things like that we had a long strip of landscape drainage that was packed with leaves and had grates that were impossible to get off. But the most work was trying to protect our house and yard from the unfinished ADU site. We have always had drainage issues on that side of the yard which are going to be fixed as part of the ADU landscaping. Only problem is we are not finished yet so the yard packed with dirt and landscape materials that are sloping towards our home and finished part of the yard. After working all day it was nice to be treated to an awesome sunset right before the storm moved in. I'm happy to report that the rain was only about half of what we were expecting at our house so even though there was lots of rain it didn't cause any massive problems in our yard.
