Firepit Fail

This firepit has been my dream/nightmare for about a year now. We ordered this really cool firepit last summer for our yard. As soon as I ordered it I was immediately dreaming of warming my toes and making smores on a summer evening. The firepit arrives and the top is cracked. The company swaps it out for a new one which arrives with the top cracked as well. I make a deal with the company to keep the 2nd broken fire pit at a discount and in my mind it was going to be a quick little weekend project to pop off the broken top and put some cute tile in it's place. Not so much! Turns out the top was way harder to remove than expected and when it comes off it rips off the support layer with it. So now hubby is going to have to rebuild the top supports and then pour a new concrete top. Hopefully I'll have a picture of the finished project sooner than later.............
