I grew up in NY and moved out to San Diego in 2006. I vividly remember everything about 9/11 because I was in school only 45 minutes away from the Towers. As the day went on kids were being pulled out of school left and right. When I got home I saw what happened on T.V. A week or so after 9/11 sports came back and I remember this Mets vs Braves game. It was the first game in NY, in any sport after 9/11. I'm not a Mets fan but this was incredible.
The stadium was sold out, first responders every where and ground zero was still burning. Mets were down 2-1 in the 8th and Mike Piazza hits a two run home run to go ahead. It was one of the most memorable sports moments I have. I watched it live and couldn't believe it.
